Pontypool (Welsh: Pont-y-pŵl) is a town of roughly 37,000 humans in the traditional county of Monmouthshire, southern Wales. These are placed on the Afon Llwyd flow of any stream in the county borough of Torfaen. Pontypool is look on an industrial town by using previous industries including iron & steel production, coal mining & a incubation of the railways. The like artistic industry which flourished on this button was Japan or even lacquer ware. Now Pontypool is regenerating itself & can be seen as a dormitory town for its neighbours Cwmbran and Newport. There is a folly there. These are one of a goals of the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway.

Pontypool hosted a National Eisteddfod in 1924.
